Welcome to my page! My name is Q*bert...

I started this blog to keep my family and friends in touch with my journey. I update the site from all four corners of the globe, and it's pretty much taken over my life now. I don't have any answers to any of the big questions, I don't really know what half the questions are. I do know that life isn't what you expect it to be. @!#?@!?

Met Chewbacca today!!!

February 7, 2011

Today was my lucky day! I just met chebacca!!! I have to tell you the story from the beginning... When I travel short distances in smaller countries i usually use postal carriers. This is definately the cheapest and most convenient way of shipping cause I hate crowds of people hustling me around! With the help of my friends I always box myself up in small cardboard boxes with discreet air holes to avoid attracting attention. This time I used DPD a German postal carrier. A @!#?@! experience! I should have choosen DHL cause the travel was not very convenient, the postal offiers were so @!#?@! rude!

Anyway I arrived at Jens house (yeah the guy who called himself the "true" Jens, the one I met at my latest interview date) in Wuppertal this morning. He invited me for a couple of days and as i cannot say "NO" I just came over. And what a BIG surprise: Chewbacca my old friend from outerspace lives at Jens' place!!!! After one or two hours of greeting, hugging and a couple of @!#?@! beers we made some nice pictures for you guys out there. You cannot imagine what a wave of joy suddenly overcame me meeting this wonderful guy again. By the way Chewie now calls himself Einstein, has a different hair colouring and also learned to creep and behave like a dog. This is to avoid the attraction of the registry- and finance office. Please don't tell this to anyone!

I now declare Wuppertal my NRW headquarter!

Another boring interview date...

February 4, 2011

Had another of these boring interview dates today... People always asking the same stupid questions! Why do I always attract women, where did I come from, what food do I like etc...etc...blabla! This time a bunch of semi-professional german students arranged an interview but don't even spell my name correctly... Also I had to set up the camera myself! I cannot work like this @!#?@! And guess what? They are talking about PONG! What the heck is that ? You see it in my eyes that I am quite upset. But as I am a pro, I don't let it show! Adrian my dear buddy kept me from going wild!

Anyway, that giant creature on the left is Jens. A guy from Bochum collecting games and silly old stuff from the 80ties. Although he looks a bit crazy he was very polite so I gave him the chance of posing with me. This Jens calls himself the "genuine" Jens - what a laugh!

His buddy (picture on the right) also called himself Jens @!#?@! Maybe all these extra crazy collectors call themself Jens. What a pseudonym... ! I guess collecting old useless electronic stuff will leave it's marks on human brains... Good for him that he found the right words to please me, so I also gave this Jens the chance to pose with a famous Arcade Game Hero like I am! This Jens called himself the "true" Jens - @!#?@!

Almost fell in love @!#?@!

January 30, 2011

Met a very nice turkish girl today who showed me her place in Neukoelln, a lovely part of Berlin! It seems that many Turkish found their home here . I met lovely people with nice clothing. I like this oriental style - so I got two countries for one!
Later we went to a @!#?@! great turkish restaurant were we had a fantastic meal while enjoying the view on Neukoelln. I almost fell in love with the girl who called herself Isabel. She kept on pressing my nose til it hurted @!#?@! I have no clue why women always go for my nose @!#?@!

How to behave in foreign countries!

January 30, 2011

This picture was taken shortly before I did the best monster burp in my life! People started to applaud spontaneously! You should have heard it! Turkish people seem to be my friends! They don't care for my looks - they are very polite and discrete!

Out on the streets of Neukoelln!

January 30, 2011

My buddy Adrian carried me around in his backpack. What a wonderful streetview! Thank god I did not eat that much. I hate it when Adrian has to pull heavy things due to his back ache. Did I already mention Berlin was @!#?@!? cold? It really was - and I hate my nose getting cold!

Arriving in Berlin - @!#?@!?

January 19, 2011

Today I start my very first travel blog - what a great day in Arcade Video Gaming History!
I am here in Berlin to help promoting the opening of the Computerspiele Museum (Computergames Museum) on January 20, 2011. I am invited to join the preopening - as an Arcade Hall Hero... Please visit the Museum´s page at computerspielemuseum.de

Found a nice Appartment in Berlin Center with a gorgeous view on Berlin´s TV-Tower - the "Fernsehturm". I'd love to hop on it, but due to it's height I don't think this might be a good idea!

I decided to go downtown and take some pictures of Berlin and it's @!#?@! sights. Got to see the Brandenburger Tor, the Reichstag, which is the House of Representatives (a nice word for some old farts doing nothing for much), the Bundeskanzleramt, home of the German chancellor (who is a girl - can you believe this??), and many more useless people in expensive clothing.

I was almost running wild noticing all these government buildings with additional riot fences and police officers with guns and machine pistols armed up to the teeth. I hate that kind of stuff! Tell me, is Berlin still a warzone @!#?@!? People make love not war!

        yours, Q*bert
